MIR offers financial planning services designed to help elderly clients preserve their assets in safe investments so they may qualify for government financial assistance programs. MIR charges fees to assist elderly clients in submitting Medicaid applications, and we may receive commissions for annuities structured in the planning process. In 11 years filing Medicaid applications, we have never had an application denied.
We are not attorneys and do not offer legal advice or draft any legal documents. The decision to hire MIR is in no way equivalent to or a substitution for an attorney.
Relationship
with Children International – Since 2001, MIR has sponsored children
in 3rd world countries through Children International, a non-profit based
in Kansas City, MO (www.childreninternational.org).
Since 1936, Children International (CI) has worked tirelessly to ease the
burdens poverty places upon poor children. CI’s most urgent effort is to
fight poverty by connecting sponsors with children around the world. For
as little as $22 per month, an under privileged child is provided with access
to education, medical and dental care and school books.
MIR began sponsoring children through CI in 2001. Over the years as MIR
has grown, we have increased the number of children we sponsor. Currently,
MIR sponsors 9 children and our employees sponsor another 2 children for
a total of 11 children sponsored .
Building of New School in Honduras - In 2007,
we learned of a community in rural, El Corralito Honduras that was turning
young children away because the community’s one room school house was not
large enough to accommodate the needs of the community. In addition, the
school was an older design and had little to no ventilation. MIR committed
to help the community by donating the funds to building a new five room
school house adjacent to the existing one room school. Then in February
2008, MIR management visited the community of El Corralito, Honduras for
the inauguration of the new school. It truly was a life changing experience
for all in attendance.
Update on Use of the School – We
have received many letters from parents and children attending the school
expressing their apreciation for building the school. The children have
said that the new school is much cooler than the old school and it provides
them with a better learning environment. Recently, adult literacy classes
are being held in the school during the evenings. So now the school is helping
illiterate members of the community to read and write for the first time.
